The status of Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich hasn’t been officially announced for tonight’s Game 4 matchup against the Miami Heat. However, he appears unlikely to suit up for the Bulls as he continues to be hampered by a severely bruised calf, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago.Hinrich initially sustained his calf injury during the team’s first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets while taking a charge from Deron Williams. He’s been out since, as the calf has shown little signs of improvement. Two MRIs have since been taken, and neither revealed significant structural damage to the calf. Still, the injury hasn’t healed as quickly as the Bulls were hoping, keeping Hinrich sidelined through much of the postseason.Yesterday, Hinrich spent time working out on a treadmill. While that’s improvement, Friedell notes that it doesn’t appear the guard has spent much time running since the first round of the playoffs. For his part, coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t seem to expect either Hinrich or ailing forward Luol Deng to return for Game 4. In their absence, the Bulls will continue to rely on Nate Robinson and Jimmy Butler.Follow @hoopsinjurynews
