Welcome to Cadence Call, your weekly game preview where I give you a bootleg breakdown for each team in the AFC East & AFC North divisions.  It is going to be an incredible season.  So sit back, chill, light that Oliva Series V, grab your favorite libation and enjoy the game.  First up, the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens take on the Denver Broncos. Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos (Thursday Sept 5, 8:30 PM ET).  *Line: Denver -7 ½   Even the slight chance of thunderstorms set to cloud the Denver night will not stop the Ravens from swooping into Denver and flapping out with smashed orange creamsicle all over their talons. The defending Super Bowl champions are stark raving mad and the Broncos will pay the price.  The blackbirds have their feathers ruffled on starting this Super Bowl defending season on the road, away from their home roost and having, the good citizens of Colorado (ever so slowly, I might add), mentally and physically deface banners of the Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco.  This did not do Peyton Manning and his orange bunch any favors. Look for Flacco to sling the pigskin down field and running back Ray Rice to pound it up the middle into a Denver defense that is still trying to cope with the loss of fax machine advocate and former Bronco, Elvis Dumervil.  Denver will also miss the “enhanced” play of recently suspended Von Miller (do not let the glasses fool you).  Champ Bailey in or out it (he’s out), it matters not, John Elway might as well put Beetle Bailey back there. Speaking of Dumervil, look for him to have an impact early and often, as he is out to prove to himself and to Denver that Colin Hay was right, when he wrote It’s a Mistake.  I do not put much into Wes Welker and the passing attack of the Broncos because their offense will be looking over photo printouts all game because the Ravens’ O will be controlling the clock. Wowie Zowie, only a football folly fool would not take the Ravens plus the points and watch them take the Broncos to the woodshed.  Ravens end this one 34-21.   *Football lines provided by Bovada at the time of this writing are subject to change.       You can follow me on twitter @TheSoftParade69 Talk football talk cigars talk anything, I know a little about a lot.   Follow @TheNFLInjuryRpt Looking for fantasy football advice?

Ravens teammates collide during fair catch

During early in the second quarter of Thursday’s NFL game, the Denver Broncos were set to punt the ball to return man Jacoby Jones. With a high and short kick, Jones signaled fair catch but was ran into by Brynden Trawick, his own player. Trawick is a rookie who was hoping to block for Jones on the punt return. Instead, he injured Jones who now has a sprained knee. Check out the...

The Gaffes that defined the Broncos, Ravens season opener

Last night’s much anticipated rematch between the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos gave fans their first dose of real football. The game also gave us our fair share of gaffes which defined the whole game. It’s a theme that may play out during many of the season’s opening games. These are the gaffes that determined last night’s game. The “severe” lightning in...

Broncos hope playoff failure is springboard again

John Elway the executive is about to find out if he's as good at bouncing back as John Elway the quarterback was. Elway compares the heartbreak of Denver's loss to Baltimore in the playoffs last January to Jacksonville's upset of the well-rested Broncos 17 years earlier when they also were 13-3 and the AFC's prohibitive Super Bowl favorite. The Broncos bounced back...

The 2012 NFL Season is in the books and last night began a brand new year of football. As of 9:09 pm EST there were no world champions, no league leaders, only prognostications of possible outcomes ahead. A rain delay created a void that forced the anchors to fill in the spaces by repeating tired clichés. Some thoughtful, most however bordered on sycophancy. Ex New England Patriot...

Broncos will try three-headed RB

Montee Ball said there's no such thing as pass protection for running backs in high school. In college, he was merely introduced to it. The Denver Broncos' rookie running back has quickly learned that, at the NFL level, taking on pass rushers is nearly as important as carrying the ball. "My problem is I'm coming from Wisconsin, a power school, and I had 900 carries...

WATCH: All Seven of Peyton Manning's TD Passes From Thursday Nights Win Over the Ravens

If you missed the NFL season opener Thursday night between the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens you missed a barn burner--at least from Denver's side of things. The Broncos defense played well enough against the Flacco Attack, but the real show came whenever Peyton Manning was on the field. The wily veteran showed just why he is one of the greatest...

Are you as sad as I am to see Wes Welker in a Denver uniform? Glad to see he played so well. Just love the way Wes plays and wish him well.

Not gonna lie, it was a little strange and was a little bit of a gut punch. The interesting thing to...

NFL 2013 Season Kickoff WAGs: Ashley Thompson Manning & Dana Grady Flacco

The 2013 NFL season kicks off tonight as the Baltimore Ravens face off against the Denver Broncos.  The Ravens broke the hearts of Broncos fans everywhere back in the playoffs on their way to the Super Bowl, just like Dana Grady Flacco and Ashley Thompson Manning break the hearts of guys who realize their married to ultra rich NFL quarterbacks.  Check out some photos of...

Manning and Broncos embarrass Ravens

Manning, Broncos stomp Ravens in opener by FOX Sports The Broncos wanted revenge, but they got much more than that last night. Peyton Manning threw for seven touchdowns with no interceptions as he carved up the revamped Ravens defense. How many “experts” were saying that the Ravens could be better on defense this year? The thought now seems like a joke. Of course they will get...

Arthur Jones Will Miss Thursday's Season Opener

Ravens defensive end Arthur Jones will miss Thursday's game due to illness.Fantasy Spin:Marcus Spears should get the start and luckily for Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning he's not as strong a pass rusher.
