This was supposed to be a celebratory week at Florida.
The Gators expected to beat rival Georgia, clinch a spot in the Southeastern Conference championship game and then worry about staying undefeated against Missouri.
Six turnovers changed everything.
The mistake-prone Gators lost 17-9 to the Bulldogs, leaving them in an unenviable position of trying to regroup from a setback...
GAINESVILLE, Fla. Florida's offense was sputtering along like a '72 Volkswagen, relying heavily on punter Kyle Christy to keep Missouri pinned deep in its own territory.
It was early in the second half and the Gators not only trailed by a touchdown, they had yet to score. They needed something to happen after Pop Saunders' 16-yard punt return gave them the ball at Missouri...
The Florida Gators won the game in typical fashion Saturday. Scoring just enough points on offense for their tenacious defense to bring home the victory. Here are several pictures from a game that was too close for comfort.
Mike Gillislee took a screen pass and went 45 yards for a touchdown, and No. 8 Florida survived a scare to beat Southeastern Conference newcomer Missouri 14-7 on Saturday.
The Gators rebounded from a turnover-filled loss to rival Georgia and kept alive hopes of winning the SEC's Eastern Division. They need the Bulldogs to lose one of their remaining games, against Mississippi...
The Florida Gators are taking on the Missouri Tigers today for their final SEC game of the season. They only way they can win the SEC East is if they beat Mizzou Tigers and if Georgia loses to either Ole Miss or Auburn. Apparently a 7 and 1 start for the Florida Gators isn’t good enough for the student section. It was never this bad under the Ron Zook era which was not a good era...
The Florida Gators won seven conference games for only the twelfth time in their history on Saturday. A year ago they won seven total games. Most thought Florida would be better this year than last, but not many predicted they would win seven games in the nation’s toughest conference. It is an achievement to be proud of and one this group wants to grow from.
It wasn’t pretty, but thanks to a 14-7 win over Missouri, Florida is still alive in the SEC East title chase.
For the Gators, their fate in the division could ultimately come down to what happens this afternoon when Ole Miss visits Georgia. With the ‘Dawgs holding a tiebreaker lead over the Gators, Florida needs Georgia to lose either this afternoon or next week at Auburn...
The Florida Gators have the rare opportunity to welcome both of the SEC’s new members to the conference during the 2012 college football season. The Alabama Crimson Tide are the only other team that will be able to say they did so. Oddly enough, if we go back in time just one week, those were the top two teams in the nation. The Gators have fallen since after an ugly defeat...
ShowMeMizzou.com takes a second look, a day after and reviewing it a second time, at the Missouri Tigers road loss to the Florida Gators and breaks it down and provides some and what we took away from the game.
Will Yeguete knows his limitations. He won’t ever be an elite scorer for the Gators or a go-to option on offense, but that didn’t look like the case on Thursday in a 101-71 win over Nebraska-Kearney. The junior’s knack for the ball on the offensive glass helped him post 20 points and 11 rebounds for Florida. Yeguete knows his strengths and improved them in the offseason.
The conversation between Florida coach Will Muschamp and offensive coordinator Brent Pease was focused on second down. Missouri was bringing extra pressure and leaving its defense vulnerable. Two plays after the Gators had a long touchdown taken off the board, Pease decided to dial up a rare screen on second down to offset the pressure, and it was the highlight play for Mike Gillislee.
The Florida gators cruised to a 101-71 preseason victory over Nebraska -Kearney. The freshmen showed up big, but head coach Billy Donovan is looking for more from the overall squad. Senior guard Kenny Boynton, sophomore forward Will Yeguete, and freshman Michael Frazier talked to the media following the contest and we have some of that here.
Head coach Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators ready themselves as they host the Missouri Tigers this Saturday afternoon. For Muschamp and the Gators it's the last home SEC game of the season. Will the Gators be able to bring in the top tier talent this weekend?
