According to the Raleigh News & Observer’s Chip Alexander, Jeff Skinner will not play this weekend for the Carolina Hurricanes, which would mean two games, at the very least. In his place though, Radek Dvorak may be back in the lineup. The 21 year old Skinner is suffering from an upper body injury. The good news is, it is most likely not a concussion. Sometimes the NHL teams can be confusing when using terminology for injuries, but in this case it is not a head injury, per the teams twitter feed. When he is in the game he does score, having nine points in 10 games this season, this playing on the third line. Hopefully the young play maker can stay healthy moving forward. The Hurricanes have home games against Philly on Tuesday and the Islanders on Thursday after this coming weekends games. Six of their next games will be at home, so the hope is Skinner can come back and take part in some of them.
