Just two days after lasting only two miserable innings against the Houston Astros on Tuesday night, St. Louis Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia has landed on the disabled list.
Garcia, who had missed his previous start before Tuesday with a tender elbow, was placed on the 15 day disabled list with what the Cardinals official website has termed as a strained shoulder.
Garcia, for the most part, has struggled this season, posting just a 3-4 record with a 4.48 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP in eleven starts this season.
Replacing Garcia on the roster is reliever Fernando Salas, who was demoted in May after being highly ineffective out of the Cardinals bullpen to start the season.

STL Cardinals: starting rotation in shambles
Pitch six or more innings and give up fewer than 3 runs. It’s called a quality start. That has been a rare sight recently for St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny and the bullpen is having to work overtime and not being paid time and a half for it. But, for some reason, the starting [...]

Oh, steroids...it's funny how we still talk about you.A couple of weeks ago, Jack Clark blasted Tony LaRussa, saying he was "responsible for a lot of the cheating that went on". Getting used to a bigger window
Unless you have been hiding under a rock for the last few weeks, you are aware the St. Louis Cardinals are in the middle of a very bad stretch of baseball. Before Monday’s win at New York, the club had dropped 5 straight and if you take out the sweep against the AAA padres on a 4-17 stretch of baseball.
Bad.
For whatever reason, I do not believe the sky is falling and all is lost...
