Cavaliers-varejao-reacts
Anderson Varejao may not be a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers for much longer.  Trade talks involving the 30-year old forward/center are expected to heat up.  There could be numerous teams with interest in Varejao to fill injury holes or just improve their low post presence. According to Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Varejao is leading the NBA in rebounding which could make him a hot commodity.  With the Cavaliers once again struggling this season, the team may look to make some deals to help improve the team for the long-term. Varejao is currently playing in his ninth NBA season.  He has spent his entire career with the Cavaliers.  He was part of the teams that were perennial contenders under the leadership of LeBron James.  Now, though, he may be the Cavaliers best player.Varejao has averaged 15.1 points per game this season - a career-high.  He has also averaged 15.3 rebounds per game - also a career-high.  These are the types of numbers that will lead to trade talks.  Teams in need of a big men will certainly come calling the Cavaliers.  However, the question is still whether Cleveland can get enough in return to let Varejao go.  That remains to be seen. Could Anderson Varejao end up in Boston?

Teammates Soon? Anderson Varejao is one of the polarizing players, you love when he plays for your team but hate when he plays for the other guys. I personally am of the latter; I could never stand the guy. Just the way the Side-Show-Bob-look-alike plays grinds my gears and when Benedict LeBron was still in Cleveland, they were a match made in heaven. The flopping, the whining...

Box Score: Cavaliers 79, Pistons 89

You knew this game would be tough to win, with the Cavaliers starting backcourt out with injuries and the Pistons playing good basketball as of late. For a while, that’s exactly what happened, with the Cavaliers falling behind by 20 points in the first half and trailing by 17 at the half. In the 4th quarter, the Cavaliers made a good effort to try to get back into this one. With...

Reality sets in as Cavaliers fall without Irivng, Waiters

“To be honest I do not think you can make up for it.” — Byron Scott, 12/3/12 It wasn’t all that long ago when a Cavaliers-Pistons match-up was must-watch television. If you need proof, just ask Tayshaun Prince, Jason Maxiell, Anderson Varejao or Daniel Gibson — the only four men to play in the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals who happen to still be playing for their respective...

The Cleveland Cavaliers, off to a perfect 3 and 11 record

.    The Cleveland Cavaliers season is shaping up to be one of the greatest in rebuilding history. I couldn’t have scripted it better myself. I thought they would be bad, while not being bad enough to improve their roster. I thought that they would be just bad enough to lurk around .500, and that they might even sneak into the playoffs. However I pleasantly surprised to see...

Video: Dion Waiters monster double-pump dunk

Tweet The Cleveland Cavaliers took a risk by drafting Dion Waiters fourth overall in last summer’s NBA Draft, mostly for his ability to make plays like this: Waiters early development has been much needed for a Cavs team that is without last season’s ROY Kyrie Irving. If Waiters can keep it up, the Cavs will [...]

Loss stings, but Cavs offering something here

CLEVELAND -- Finding new ways to describe the Cavaliers habit of keeping games close, and then losing, may be the most difficult part of this season. But the nice thing is theyre keeping it close. In a city thats begging for a reason to taunt opposing fans, a reason to experience how it feels to win and win a lot, maybe that doesnt sound like much of a prize. Maybe the Cavs 118...

Casspi on his way out of Cleveland?

Omri Casspi was a highly sought out asset when his name became available from the Sacramento Kings. The Cleveland Cavaliers took full advantage of that and traded for him, hoping he'd be the future of the franchise. Recently, he's been more of a bench warmer than anything else only averaging 13 minutes this season with his team. There's been some unknown confusion or...
