The 2013 CCHA Tournament — the last postseason tournament before the conference disbands — opens next weekend, with the sixth through 11th seeds competing in the opening round. Both Michigan and Michigan State will be in action during Round 1. With Bowling Green losing at Notre Dame and Lake Superior State downing Northern Michigan, the Michigan Wolverines needed just one point on Saturday night to clinch a home-ice series. The Wolverines picked up two with a shootout win behind goalie Steve Racine, who turned aside an overtime breakaway after Ferris State had pulled its goalie in search of three points. Michigan State, meanwhile, was locked into the 11th seed prior to Saturday — the Spartans will head to Alaska in the 6-11 matchup. Here’s a look at the full seedings: Byes: No. 1 Miami (Ohio), No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 3 Western Michigan, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Ferris State. The Buckeyes and Bulldogs will meet in Columbus in Round 2. No. 11 Michigan State at No. 6 Alaska No. 10 Northern Michigan at No. 7 Michigan No. 9 Bowling Green at No. 8 Lake Superior State The first round is a best-of-three. Miami will then face the lowest remaining seed in Round 2, with Notre Dame and Western Michigan matching up against the second and third lowest remaining seeds, respectively. If all seeds hold in Round 1, the Round 2 matchups would be Miami-Lake Superior, Notre Dame-Michigan, Western Michigan-Alaska and Ferris State-Ohio State.
