Found November 03, 2012 on Celtics Life:
(We had a late scratch for the recap, but longtime reader Jenda has stepped in with a guest recap). Let's start with bad news. The first quarter was a fluke. Randy Wittman and his assistants still have to gel together as a coaching staff and they take a little longer to get into the game. They did so in second quarter and outscored the Celts 30-23. Most damage was done inside the paint. Celtics did better job defending the three point line in the first half but Bass and Sullinger weren't able to slow down the lowly, lowly Wizards' post players (resulting in 19 pts between Booker and Seraphin). Celtics bench went AWOL in the season opener and hasn't really came back yet. Jeff Green managed stacking up second worst +/- on the team, -6, second only to Leandro Barbosa with -8. Rondo gave the rest of the league a reason to have a stroke by hitting back to back threes. Good news from the first half is Big 3 finally playing like the Big 3 they are, splitting 30 of 49 pts a...

Danny Ainge hints that Jeff Green does not match up well with Miami Heat, and he might be right

Note: This post is not meant to scream, JEFF GREEN’S GOING TO SCORE NO MORE THAN THREE POINTS EVERY TIME HE PLAYS THE MIAMI HEAT!!” or “THE CELTICS ARE SCREWED BECAUSE THEY’RE TOO MUCH LIKE THE MIAMI HEAT!!” It’s simply to advance the conversation about how the Celtics’ on-court relationship with their biggest Eastern Conference rival has evolved. I fear I sound more...

Making the case for Jared Sullinger as a starter

No matter how much we want to make it all about Pierce, Garnett and Rondo we can't discount the importance of the role players.  During the preseason, there were rumblings of whether or not Brandon Bass or Jared Sullinger should start. Three games into this banner chase, it is plain to see that Sully is the better fit with the starters. This isn't an indictment on Bass...

Must-listen for Celtics fans: “A.G.E. Open Season”

We don’t often post music here at RedsArmy, but when someone reps Boston and the Celtics as well as the Showoff Records crew does, it must be acknowledged. Last year, Statik Selektah dropped the “A.G.E.” (All Green Everything) mixtape. It featured JFK Showoff, Reks, Termanology & many other artists. What got my attention was the Boston Celtics theme and then when I listened...

Jared Sullinger gets first career start

Jared Sullinger gets his first NBA start tonight, with Brandon Bass coming off the bench.C's-Wizards 6:30 WEEI — Sean Grande (@SeanGrandePBP) November 3, 2012 Sean Grande reports that Jared Sullinger will be starting against the Washington Wizards. It is his first career start.

Bucks trample Celtics 99-88

Wow was that awful. I mean it’s one thing to lose to the Heat but the Bucks? At home? In the home opener? The Bucks? And Monta Ellis didn’t even have a good night? Here’s the rundown of the good and the bad from tonight (WARNING: mostly bad):Sullinger looked really solid in the first half. He finished the game with six points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes. Sullinger also...

Jared Sullinger starting tonight against Washington Wizards

Jared Sullinger gets his first NBA start tonight, with Brandon Bass coming off the bench. C's-Wizards 6:30 WEEI3 minutes ago via Twitter for AndroidReplyRetweetFavorite@SeanGrandePBPSean GrandeI thought Sullinger should have played more last night, and I’m entirely convinced Doc Rivers is still a long way away from figuring out his roster.

Celtics survive Wizards (barely) 89-86

Well that was better, I guess.  The Celtics survived a nail-biter against the Washington Wizards (WITHOUT John Wall and Nene) after they blew a sizable lead. But I’ll TRY to be positive and accept our first win of the season on the second night of a back-to-back, and chalk it up to the Celtics playing down to inferior competition. Let’s get to the recap:Sullinger got the...

Two Games In: Time for a Change

It’s two games in, the Wizards have yet to get a win and they can’t seem to come through at the very beginning or at the very end of games.  But have no fear, there is no reason to freak out. The solution lies right in the starting lineup. After the loss to Boston on Saturday night, Randy Wittman was asked whether he might think about retooling the starting lineup. He didn’t...

Thoughts from last night's "win"

My sister and I with a pair of Rondo's game shoes! I was lucky enough to attend the game last night in DC. I went with my mom and sister and had awesome seats about 10 rows up. This gave me a chance to really watch the Celtics up close and personal, and what I saw was a team that is still working on finding its identity.  The Wizards are a terrible basketball team. I said...

Recap: C’s hold on to win ugly one in D.C.

Celtics came-out of the gate on fire tonight. KG was hitting shots early & often, the defense was focused & guys had a spring in their step. Rajon was distributing the ball well from the jump- he had 5 assists in the first quarter alone to help get the C’s out to an early 26-12 lead after 1. The Wizards bench then got Washington right back into it behind Kevin Seraphin’s...

Celtics get first win over Wiz-kids but what does it mean?

The Celtics beat the Washington Wizards last night, but it was not a feel good story.  Boston ran out to a 16 point lead, then just went through the motions and were fortunate to escape with a win. Is it time to push the panic button? Of course not.  Last season the team had no chemistry issues, but still crawled out of the gates with an 0-3 start.  This year with essentially...
