Chase Utley has had a busy day. After reportedly agreeing to a two-year, $27 million contract extension with the Phillies Wednesday night, the second baseman crashed into Chicago Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro during the seventh inning in a nasty collision at the plate. Navarro managed to hang on to the ball and Utley was thrown out on the play, but the Cubs catcher was tended to by trainers and eventually carted off the field. Navarro was then taken to a hospital where X-rays came back negative on his ankle, and the injury was being treated as a contusion, according to Cubs reporter, Carrie Muskrat.
