Roster Move Reveals Cubs Long-Term Plan For Javier Assad

On Sunday, the Chicago Cubs announced utility pitcher Javier Assad was optioned back to Triple-A Iowa. Assad had been serving time in the bullpen for the Cubs since returning to the main roster earlier this season.
