The Kansas City Chiefs have only had back-to-back winning seasons once since former head coach Marty Schottenheimer was let go after the 1998 season. Schottenheimer put together nine straight winning seasons during his 10-year tenure in Kansas City.In an effort to return to the level of consistent winning that the Chiefs enjoyed during the Schottenehimer era and accomplish something...
The Kansas City Chiefs concluded their OTA last week as second-year QB Ricky Stanzi ran the second-string offense for the Chiefs. The 6′ 4″ Iowa product supplanted veteran QB Brady Quinn as the team’s second-string quarterback. Prior to this week, Quinn had been handling all of the team’s second-string duties behind Matt Cassel.
According to the Chiefs official website, Stanzi...
KANSAS CITY, Mo. You brace for the usual jive. Some line about arm strength. Or poise. Or command of the playbook. How Ricky Stanzi is growing up, becoming a man before their very eyes.
Instead, Dexter McCluster considers the question for a second, repeating it out loud.
"The difference between Ricky now and then?" the Kansas City Chiefs' tailbackreceiver asks.
Safety Abram Elam signed with the Chiefs. Terms were not disclosed. The seventh-year veteran played for the Cowboys in 2011 and has played in 92 career games, recording 365 tackles (271 solo), 5.0 sacks (-39.0 yards) and three interceptions. Matt Cassel will try to turn around the Chiefs and his fantasy production in 2012.
Back in 2010, Matt Cassel had a terrific season. Nearly everything went according to plan. He took the Chiefs to the AFC West title and became a relevant fantasy option as he threw for 3,116 yards, 27 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
Rewind to the start of last season and Cassel was...
During last week’s on the field OTA’s, back up quarterback Ricky Stanzi was the one who led the second team offense onto the field, not Brady Quinn who was just signed this offseason.
While Stanzi didn’t look that good when he came in for Matt Cassell, when he went down last season, he might be ready to be his back up in 2012.
I wouldn’t be shocked at all if...
Stanford Routt is growing accustomed to life on the other side of Arrowhead Stadium.
The former Oakland Raiders cornerback has fit in seamlessly with his longtime division rival as the replacement for Brandon Carr, who left in free agency. Routt has been working out with the first team during the opening weeks of offseason workouts.
He said it's helped that he spent seven seasons...
Recovering from ACL surgery is one of the hardest obstacles an athlete can run into. This is no exception for Kansas City Chiefs' running back, Jamaal Charles. Back in week two of the 2011 NFL season against the Detroit Lions, Charles suffered a knee injury that put him on the sidelines for the rest of the year. It was later determined that Charles had a ruptured left Anterior...
According to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, the Kansas City Chiefs have signed free agent safety Abe Elam.
The acquisition of Elam makes a lot sense since both Eric Berry and Kendrick Lewis are still rehabbing from their respective injuries and currently aren’t participating in OTA practices.
Now that it’s official Kansas City Chiefs Dexter McCluster will shed the running back playbook from his 2012 duties. Moving back to slot he has much to prove to his new offensive coordinator.
