Lost in all the excitement over a new baseball season is the fact that Colt aka “Chips” McCoy has been traded to the Niners along with a sixth round draft pick, in return for a fifth and a seventh-rounder. Without indulging in the nightmare fuel of an attempted determination of whether McCoy had a fair go of it in Cleveland, it’s at least worth noting that he played at least as well as anointed starter Brandon Weeden did in the same amount of time, with much less of a supporting cast.
Nevertheless, with apologies to Anne Dunn, McCoy’s marks the departure of one of the most fraudulent public personae that Cleveland sports fan has ever been forced to endure.
It was one thing when he tried to sell us magic holograms, and it was probably worse when he and his dad tried to sell us a thoroughly risible book about how to be “godly.” There was the season of “No Excuses” when Colt explained that he was a rookie for the second year in a row, and after his last start as a Brown, last Dec

The big question is are they better or worse than last year at this time?
It is well documented that the Browns had one of the youngest rosters in the NFL with half of the opening day roster last September either rookies or second-year players. It was assumed the Browns were building with young players and had a good nucleus of up-and-coming players on the team.
Sure, the team was...

McCoy was in Albilene, Texas for a two-day youth football camp when he told the Albilene Reporter News “I really like Cleveland, I’ve always been a guy that wants to finish what he starts.”
McCoy says he just wants the opportunity to compete against Seneca Wallace and first-round draft...
