Team: No. 16 Ford Mustang Crew Chief: Seth Barbour Chassis: RK-747 – New Chassis Buescher at Texas Motor Speedway: Chris Buescher heads back home to Texas to make his fourth NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start overall, and his second this season for Roush Fenway Racing (RFR). Buescher previously competed at Bristol Motor Speedway in the No. 16 Ford Mustang, finishing seventh. Friday’s race marks Buescher’s first NNS start at Texas Motor Speedway. The Car: The No. 16 team brings brand new chassis RK-747 to TMS this weekend. Local Connections: Eric Wallace, Tire Specialist for the No. 16 Ford Mustang returns to his home state of Texas for this weekend’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300. Up to Speed: In 2011, Buescher made two NNS starts at Richmond and Darlington, finishing 17th in both events. In 2012, the 20-year-old driver participated in the full ARCA schedule, earning the ARCA Championship with four wins, 12 top-fives and 16 top-10s in the 19 race season. Overall, in five seasons of ARCA Racing, Buescher has made 54 starts, with one Championship, nine wins, 32 top-fives and 42 top-10s. The driver of the No. 16 Ford Mustang will team up with Seth Barbour, who will serve as Crew Chief. Barbour most recently worked as an Engineer on the RFR No. 6 team. Buescher on racing in his home state: “I’ve never raced at home at this level, but it will be great for me. I have a lot of friends and family and support out there. It never hurts to have a little extra motivation to run well.” Building on his Bristol success: “Finishing seventh at Bristol showed how capable this new team is. I have been around these guys nonstop since Bristol. We feel good about our chances to get another top-10 run. Roush Fenway Racing has a very strong 1.5-mile program, as well as proven drivers that can add to our effort in Texas.”
