Rick Pitino was in Florida on Tuesday to see Louisville signee Chris Jones of Northwest Florida State Junior College. Jones’ team closed out their regular season with a 56-55 win over Tallahassee Community College, despite being down 19-points at halftime. Jones shared this picture on his Instagram account following the game.
Jones led NWF to a 25-2 overall record and a 11-2 record in Panhandle Conference play. The future Cardinal currently leads all junior college players in scoring at 23-points per game. In two seasons with the NWF program, he never lost a home game.
Jones had a huge performance on Saturday evening, posting a triple double in a 85-82 victory over Pensacola State. That win helped NWF capture their third Panhandle Conference regular season title. Jones had 32-points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and hit he game winning three-pointer with two seconds left in overtime.
