After taking a hard hit and going to the locker room at the end of the third quarter against Georgia Tech, Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd told a reporter “I’m fine”. Boyd’s left shoulder had slammed into the turf, causing him to take a couple of minutes to get up and jog off the field. The star Clemson quarterback told ESPN’s Joe Schad that he has a bruised sternum and collarbone, but not a broken bone. Boyd returned to the sidelines and threw a few passes after returning from the locker room a few minutes later. Boyd also stated all he needed was lots of ice and even asked to go back in the game, although the Tigers were leading by 41-24 in the fourth quarter.  Junior Cole Stoudt replaced Boyd at quarterback for the fourth quarter and Clemson won 55-31. The 6′-5″ 205 lb. Stoudt threw two passes and completed both for 35 yds. Stoudt is 35 of 55 passing for 353 yds. and four touchdowns with no interceptions this year.
