Found March 13, 2012 on Redlegs Review:
Ever wonder what kind of diet Reds players adhere to? If so, you're in luck. Seen here is Bronson Arroyo sharing his thoughts on diet and nutrition. The Reds right-hander goes on to demonstrate his cooking prowess by serving up some delicious-looking salmon patties. Team chef Tim Gonzales tops off the dish with a twist of his own. But salmon patties aren't the only thing the Florida native has been serving up lately. Arroyo surrendered a league-leading and club-record 46 homers last season -- a stat I'm sure he would soon like to forget. His sub-par 2011 campaign forced the 35-year old Arroyo to rethink his approach to the game. He made an effort this offseason to prepare more of his own meals, in addition to tweaking his workout regimen to help add more velocity on his fastball. For both his sake and the club's sake, let's hope his self-dedication pays off this year. *A tip of the cap to Michael Keating of the Cincinnati Enquirer for recording the ...

ST Game 11: Reds 6, Cubs 8

Bronson Arroyo didn’t fare as well in his second start of the Spring for the Cincinnati Reds. Arroyo allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks over 2 innings. He struck out just one batter. The offense continues to produce runs, as they were up to the task of recovering from Arroyo’s deficit. Todd Frazier homered in the 2nd inning, and Zach Cozart doubled in a couple in the third...

Arroyo roughed up, so are Reds, lose 8-6

Monday's exhibition game pitted the Redlegs against division rival Chicago in Mesa, Arizona. Unfortunately, the Reds' trip to HoHoKam Park ended in defeat as the host Cubs (5-4) downed them (5-5-1) 8-6. But there is a bit of good news. I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. Just kidding. I'm State Farm all the way. Here's a breakdown...

Does Dusty still hold grudge against Cubs?

Reds manager Dusty Baker spent four years in Chicago as manager of the Cubs from 2003-06. And although it's been nearly half a decade since, the 62-year old still seems a bit sour on the way things ended there. Baker was asked before Monday's Reds-Cubs Spring Training game how he felt about playing against a team he used to manage. Here's what he had to say: “I...

Valaika cherishing chance to be in big leagues

SURPRISE, Ariz. As soon as the team bus arrives for a spring training road game, Cincinnati Reds infielder Chris Valaika drops his travel bag in his locker and heads for the field, a man on a scribbling mission. While the rest of the team sits in the clubhouse chatting with each other, fooling with their cell phones or iPads, Valaika is gone. Teams dress in their uniforms at home...

Cozart learning to become leader at shortstop

MESA, Ariz. Even though Zack Cozart is a 26-year-old rookie scheduled to play his first full season, Cincinnati Reds Manager Dusty Baker expects him to show the leadership of a drill sergeant, expects him to be the captain of the infield. The shortstop position demands it. To achieve that, Cozart is getting both ears filled, but the words come from two Hall of Famers and former...

Baseball card of the day: Mat Latos

This card is from the 2012 Topps "Opening Day" collection. It's the first image I've seen of Latos in an actual Reds uniform. Although the card is photoshopped or visually-altered in someway, it's still good to see the newcomer in Cincinnati attire.

Who has less range: Carlos Lee or a LEGO man?

On the one hand, the LEGO man has his feet actually stuck to little pegs on the ground. On the other hand, even a LEGO man could cover left field in Houston. The Reds have <a href="" title="Reds and LEGO together at last" ... [visit site to read more]
