Everything was going smoothly for the Cavs towards the end of the 2008-2009 season. They had a near-perfect home record. The "King" was averaging phenomenal numbers that virtually guaranteed him his first MVP award. And the team seemed to be peaking at the right time with a blowout of the Celtics—then defending NBA champs—just a week before the start of the playoffs.
