Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the Dallas Morning News that fullback Lawrence Vickers underwent back surgery this past Friday.
Jones said the surgery will limit Vickers this off-season, however.
“He is going to be fine,” Jones said. “It is not a concern.”
Vickers, who turns 30 on May 8, is under contract for $1.2 million in 2013. Jones was asked if he should pay Vickers that much.
“That is what you look at,” Jones said. “We like him. He has done an outstanding job. As we sit here today, I would say, ‘Yes.’”

The Dallas Cowboys made some surprise picks in this years draft for sure. Everyone thought Defense was the going to rule the board but it was the opposite for the Dallas Cowboys. I am a Cowboy fan and the 31st pick gave them flexibility they didn’t have last year and as I have discussed before also gets them younger at skilled positions. What a great choice to have Whitten help...
While watching a recent Dallas Cowboys pre-draft press conference, a record was surely set. With less than a minute’s rambling Dallas Coach Jason Garrett managed to dash any realistic hopes that Cowboy nation held for seeing significant team improvement through the NFL draft. “By nature, if you draft too much for need your team probably by definition gets worse,” Coach Garrett told...
Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones continues to cripple his franchise with poor drafts The Dallas Cowboys’ ineptitude at running a draft was again on full display during the second day of the 2013 NFL Draft. The Cowboys second and third round selections show that there is no clear strategy or plan in place for the franchise to advance out of its current state of mediocrity. In the first...
As a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, I have learned to take the good with the bad.The good old years are behind us (way behind), and we as fans are waiting to see what lies ahead.Using our current seasons as retrospect as preview, folks it has not been good. What NOW?Here we are in the 2013 NFL Draft, and Jerry Jones is at it again.Mr Jerry Jones owner/general manager of the Dallas...

I was thrilled with the pick for a few reasons. They addressed an area of need. They added a 3rd round pick. They also killed two birds with one stone. Frederick can play...
Owner Jerry Jones feels the Dallas Cowboys need quality depth at running back, and that DeMarco Murray can’t shoulder the load alone.
The team needs to find a few runners who can take the burden off Murray, whose durability comes into question at times.
The team drafted in the fifth round running back Joseph Randle out of Oklahoma State.
The two other backs on the roster...
The Cowboys draft B.W. Webb, CB, William & Mary with the #114 of the 4th round. Depth was a need and adding Webb gives us another guy to fill in the departed Mike Jenkins.
Dallas Cowboys GM Jerry Jones was given his job by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones the minute owner Jones fired his friend/coach/former teammate/nemesis/adversary Jimmy Johnson.
Jones will tell you he has always been the General Manager of the team, from day one. In a sense, that is true. But Johnson revealed in 2012 that he and Jones had a contractual agreement that he would have the...
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III (a.k.a. RG3) is not running short on confidence these days.
Despite the knee injury that left him broken down during Redskins’ playoff exit, Griffin feels so good about his rookie season that he took the time to taunt his division rival the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys draft LB DeVonte Holloman, South Carolina #185 in the 6th round. This is the last pick for the Cowboys, they do not have a 7th round pick this year.
The Dallas Cowboys have taken South Carolina linebacker DeVonte Holloman in the sixth round of the NFL draft.
The Cowboys took Holloman with the 185th overall selection Saturday, their last pick of the draft. Dallas traded its seventh-round choice to Miami last year.
Holloman started more games at strong safety than linebacker in four years with the Gamecocks. He was an outside...
Now that the Cowboys have paid him a boatload of cash it appears that they may finally be ready to do what they maybe should have done a long time ago.
They are going all in with Romo.
If it sounds like a gamble it is because it is. Romo has collected an impressive stat sheet over the years, but that hasn't translated to wins too often, and certainly not post season...
