The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport joined the Elf and Slater Show on KRLD-FM 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday.
He was asked about the looming contract negotiations between the Cowboys and Tony Romo and whether there was any concern that a deal had yet to be done.
One thing I did hear is that Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett got into Romos ear, explained to him in detail their salary cap situation, where they are, what theyre looking to do with the team, how they want to be moving forward. I dont think hes surprised at anything thats happen. I dont think hes looking at the phone going man when are you going to ring I really need that contract extension. I think Romos fine and I think the Cowboys done a good job of laying what the last couple of weeks and the next couple of weeks for the team so that Romo has a good frame of reference going in.
