The Coyotes signed free-agent center Tim Kennedy to a one-year, two-way contract on Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The 27-year-old Kennedy had two goals in 13 games with the Sharks last season. He also registered 13 goals and 24 assists with Worchester, San Jose's AHL affiliate. In parts of five NHL seasons with the Sharks, Panthers and Sabres, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound native of Buffalo, N.Y., has played in 125 regular-season games, recording 13 goals and 18 assists. He has also appeared in nine playoff games, totaling a goal and two assists. Kennedy was originally a sixth-round pick (181st overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Kennedy represents the Coyotes' second addition at center in free agency, as Mike Ribeiro was signed last week to a four-year, 22 million deal after putting up 13 goals and 36 assists for the Capitals last year.
