Found February 06, 2012 on The Sports Bank:
This Super Bowl had advertisers playing to the middle and pandering to the mainstream even more than usual. There was lots of animals, talking babies (seriously E Trade? Don’t you think we’ve been sick of these for quite a while? This is all you got?) and of course scantily clad women acting risque. Yet it was a family-friendly car ad from Volkswagen that was named America’s favorite commercial in the ninth annual SpotBowl national poll. SpotBowl is a creation of Pennsylvania-based marketing agency Pavone. The Volkswagen spot starred an overweight pooch that sheds some weight so he can chase the new VW. I loved last year’s winner, the Darth Vader kid “using the force” with the auto-start. This year’s Super Bowl lineup saw nearly half of its ads released beforehand by companies hoping to generate some pregame buzz. According to Pavone president and CEO Michael Pavone, the strategy took some of the anticipation out of the game for many ad fans. “Overall, I think this year’s ads were...

Bikini Model Maryeve Dufault Is ARCA’s Older Version Of Danica Patrick

Our old friend (she probably has a restraining order on our asses), Maryeve Dufault, is back in the news today as she prepares to attack Daytona International during the Feb. 18 Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 ARCA race. Of course the only reason we keep paying attention to Maryeve (turns 30 on Feb. 16) is because she has an insane bikini photo collection and we can’t imagine a chick...

Danica Patrick's Super Bowl Commercials Serve Educational Purpose

Danica Patrick and Jillian Michaels aren't just shilling Internet domain names and showing off some skin in those commercials. The popular TV spots, which ran multiple times during Super Bowl XLVI, can also serve an educational purpose for impressionable young football fans.

Danica: Recognize all Nationwide drivers

Danica Patrick certainly doesn't mind the attention she gets for her activities on and off the racetrack, but the last thing she wants is to be the sole focus of attention in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this year. At a Nationwide dinner during the late-January NASCAR Sprint Media Tour hosted by Charlotte Motor Speedway, Patrick and four other drivers squared off against five...

Go Daddy Super Bowl 46 Commercial – Body Paint Video

Ok, GoDaddy, we get it – you like to put hot girls on your commercials and promise that we can see, um, more of them by going to your site. This year’s Super Bowl commercial is no exception, as NASCAR (and former Indy car) driver Danica Patrick is back, this time with fitness expert and fellow Go Daddy spokeswoman Jillian Michaels, and this time they’re painting on a nude woman...

Drivers: Tony Stewart (finished first in 2011), Ryan Newman (10th), Danica Patrick (rookie). Crew chiefs: Steve Addington (Stewart), Tony Gibson (Newman), Greg Zipadelli (Patrick). Stewart-Haas Racing 2012 NASCAR Team Preview

Sports-at-Work’s Sprint Cup team preview coverage moves to Stewart-Haas Racing. Last season, Tony Stewart became the first owner/driver to win a Cup championship since Alan Kulwicki in 1992. But despite that success, Stewart fired championship-winning crew chief Darian Grubb in an attempt to bring better overall results to his organization. With the exception of Stewart...

Newton: NASCAR Competition 101

Still confused over the points swap between Stewart-Haas Racing and Tommy Baldwin Racing that guarantees Danica Patrick a spot in the Daytona 500? You're not alone.

Victory Lap: NASCAR Week in Review, 2-6-2012

My thoughts on the week that was in NASCAR... It was a relatively quiet week on the news front in stock car racing—unless you happen to be an employee at Joe Gibbs Racing, that is. And on the week of the Super Bowl, it was only fitting that the game's biggest star—that would be Danica Patrick, of course—made the biggest headlines. On Monday, Stewart-Haas Racing and...
