INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to terms with free agent wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey.
“We feel great about acquiring a talented player in Darrius Heyward-Bey,” general manager Ryan Grigson said in a statement.
“He’s big, strong and shows toughness in traffic and after the catch. He’s got elite finishing speed that’s as good as there is in the NFL. With this staff, this team and overall culture we’re building here in Indy, we felt strongly that he was the right player and person at the wide receiver position for us moving forward.”
In 2012, Heyward-Bey started 14 games and had 41 receptions for 606 yards and a career-high five touchdowns.
Heyward-Bey has 140 receptions for 2,071 yards and 11 touchdowns since being selected by the Oakland Raiders with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 draft.
Over the past four seasons, he led the Raiders in receptions and yards receiving, while finishing second in touchdowns behind Denarius Moore (12).

Many had speculated that it would be Victor Cruz, but just yesterday, we learned that it was someone better…or, someone who was at least drafted higher. Darrius Heyward-Bey, the former #7 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft,...

With Free Agency winding down, the Indianapolis Colts now turn their attention to the 2013 NFL Draft.

I like this move by the Colts. It can’t hurt to bring in another weapon for Andrew Luck.

Former Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey has agreed to a one-year deal with Indianapolis.Fantasy Spin:Don't get too excited. Sure, Heyward-Bey can help Andrew Luck stretch the field with his big play ability but he's third on the depth chart behind Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton.
A decent deep threat for Andrew Luck, you can never have enough weapons for a young QB.

It was announced today that the Indianapolis Colts have 11.4M dollars left in cap space. The Colts have done a lot of work this offseason, but they have a sufficient amount of money left. 11.4M is a good amount going into the draft. It gives the Colts a lot of room to get players during the season, if they need to. Their 11.4M ranks as the 10th most in the NFL. The Colts...
