Dave Fipp To Run Eagles Special Teams.

Posted January 24, 2013

Finally the Eagles dumped that bum and over rated coach Bobby April for Dave Fipp. Fipp apparently has know Chip Kelly for over 10 years. Fipp assisted in coaching the 2nd best kick return team in football last season. Under April the Eagles were 5th from the bottom in return yardage. Good luck with that Raiders (idiots) hoping that lost cause will help you team get better. The Dolphins were also 6th in punt returns another area where the Eagles have struggled. It seems all of the worrying about hiring a staff wasn't necessary at all. An interesting mix of new guys and old faces. Hopefully Chip Kelly will be able to get the best out of his new staff and the players. Unfortunately the Eagles may need a lot of work especially on defense to become respectable again after bad free agent choices, and drafts have left the 4 and 12.

  • You are right about one thing we traded away leadership and let veterans walk and didnt get much in return from a playing standpoint.
  • I agree. Our return coverage was brutal last season and seems to have been since April came to Philly. So many of Reid's pickup castoff coaches blew up in his face.was it the players or was it the coaching? I think it was some of both.

  • Well we didn't always have great return guys, and when we would Reid would often take them off the job, but they did always have solid coverage and Akers was a great kicker.
  • lets forget about andy reid hes gone and now chip Kelly is the head honcho
again im saying what thsi coach needs is time and patience by the fans....trust me hes not going to be planning a super bowl parade soon down mainstreet just yet!!!! a great coach in college ....COLLLEGE NOT NFL.....
  • From a historical standpoint Reid will come up, because he was the previous coach. I think we all understand who the current coach is.
  • Given he was reported wearing Eagles gear at Mobile Alabama at the Senior Bowl practice sessions, this is probably accurate. Looking forward to new direction, and hopefully a positive impact.
