The injury bug bites again.  Dez Bryant left Cowboys practice today with a tweaked knee that is being reported as a form of tendonitis.

Now that Bryant is in his third year, the recurring injury issues are a bit of a problem.  Bryant is amazing when he is on the field, so he needs to focus on staying healthy.

The Cowboys' first and second receivers are now sidelined. Miles Austin is out for the foreseable future, likely the rest of the preseason.

If it were September 5th, they would be in big trouble. Jerry Jones desperately needs to put in a call to Lee Evans.

Evans is tested, proven, and could fill the role Laurent Robinson played last season.  Kevin Ogletree doesn't ever live up to expectations.

Ogletree has yet to finish an NFL game with more than three catches.  The opportunity is there for Ogletree, but he never shows enough toughness in games or the ability to come down with big catches.

Evans is not an all-star anymore, but he is serviceable and not a locker room liability.  The injuries are too much to overlook at the receiver position.  Jason Witten is a frequent Tony Romo target, and he could very well miss the opening game.

If the top two receivers are injured in two weeks, the New York Giants' defense will easily handle the Cowboys' offense, especially if Witten doesn't make it back in time.

Call Evans.  Now.
