We all know that NFL superstars are always in demand. Their team needs them. Coaches are expecting them to set the bar for the team as a leader. Some of these high profile athletes have foundations to help run. Others are busy making commercials, music videos, and movies. Something we can all relate to right? How can these great players be in two places at once? Well Nike Football has an idea. Their new “Calvin & Johnson” ad show how all the demands on someone can even weigh down a superstar like Detroit Lions stud Calvin Johnson. This new ad campaign sees Calvin get a little help from Sean “Diddy” Combs. Megatron can now focus on the upcoming season and try to duplicate his crazy and sick performance last year. You remember his record breaking season last year right? CJ set an NFL record for receiving yards in 2012, surpassing Jerry Rice in the history books while catching 122 passes for 1,964 yards and five touchdowns. What makes that even more impressive is that Johnson did that with two broken fingers last season. Maybe the dude is half robot like his Transformer nickname states. (Before all you nerds like myself leave a comment, I know Transformers are just robots and not half human and half robot.) Fortunately for Johnson, Diddy is going to take the “hard” part of the deal by hanging with an entourage, signing autographs, and stepping in for CJ’s interviews. I wonder if we will see any more ads from Nike that will continue this newly formed duo. Until then check out the Nike ad with CJ and Diddy.
