Donald Cerrone is arguably one of the toughest competitors in the UFC’s lightweight division. Coming off a vicious KO win over Melvin Guillard in his last outing, Cerrone has been on a mission to earn himself a coveted UFC title shot against the current champ Benson Henderson. Potentially the final obstacle standing in his path is the final WEC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis as they are scheduled to meet later this month at UFC on FOX 6 in Chicago.
Cerrone has involved himself in several grudge matches since joining the UFC in 2011 including his memorable bout with Nate Diaz last year. Whilst he admits to starting the bad blood between the two competitors, he assures us that is it merely business as usual.
“It’s not anything personal towards Anthony Pettis,” Cerrone explains in the UFC pre-fight interview, “I am not like picking him out of a big group of guys, he is just the next guy in line for a title.”
