Found November 14, 2013 on Down and Distance:
Last week we did pretty well, minus the fact that Vernon DAvis had a bit of a concussion in the first quarter and ended up missing the rest of the game. Not only did my rankings suffer because of it – my big money league team suffered. I lost to a guy that started Seneca f***ing Wallace. Anywho, we’re not here to sadden everyone, so let’s get to it! Here’s your top five tight ends for week 11!   5. Vernon Davis @ Saints (AP Photo) V-Dub, my man. Please be symptom free come Sunday! Last year Davis had one of his best games against the Saints – of course, they’re revamped that awful defense and they have one of the best young safeties in the game in Kenny Vacarro, but the 49ers NEED to win this game. They laid down last week against the Panthers and have set themselves a few games back in the division behind Seattle. This 49ers offense revolves around Vernon, and Bill Williamson at ESPN showcased just how important he is to that team. Colin Kaepernick has an 81.7 QBR with Davis on the field. With him missing, it’s 13.1. They should get back on track this week, and Davis will be leading the charge.   4. Antonio Gates @ Dolphins (AP Photo) Gates has been relatively quiet in the second half of the season so far, but the Dolphins are the new Jaguars. I mean, really? You let the BUCCANEERS walk all over you? You should be ashamed of yourselves, Miami. Gates should be a primary target against the Fins this week as they have an embarrassing secondary and they’ve clearly folded under pressure in light of this whole Bullygate thing.   3. Julius Thomas vs. Chiefs (US PRESSWIRE) Thomas started things off nice last week right off the bat as he flew down the sidelines for a 74-yard score to start the game. It was all Manning from there, and he gave the ball to Thomas a few more times to put him just below the century mark. He got his targets in the redzone as well but didn’t’ capitalize. This week against the scary Chiefs defense I don’t expect a career game out of Thomas – but he’ll do enough to justify his top three position. He’ll get plenty of targets as the Chiefs will be doing everything in their power to get a pass rush on Manning – and he’ll get it out fast.   2. Rob Gronkowski @ Panthers USA TODAY Sports Alright – this Panthers defense is legit. I didn’t think they are who we thought they were, but they Denny Green’d me and shut me right up. They’re gonna do their thing against the Pats, but Tom Brady is Tom Brady still – and he’ll find a way to get the Gronk the ball. They’re coming off a bye week and they’ve had plenty of time to prepare. They don’t have the consistency outside of the hashamarks as they’d like – which leaves Gronk down the seam as the safer throw and he’ll land in the top two until someone can stop it.   1. Jimmy Graham vs. 49ers (US PRESSWIRE) Jimmy Graham continues to add to his insane stat line. All while doing so on a half-broken foot. He plays the 49ers this week, and he’s been Brees’ favorite target in each game. That wont’ change this week as Graham helps many fantasy owners cruise to yet another victory. Seahawks Fan Uses Make-a-Wish Batkid to Trash 49ers Fans

First off, I’m all for good trash talking between rivals, but when it comes to using the event of a lifetime for a 5-year old battling leukemia to trash talk your rival, then you have crossed a line. For those that are not aware, San Francisco was turned into Gotham City for a day, thanks in part to lots of volunteers and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They granted a 5-year olds wish...

After a disappointing loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers did not waste much time making changes to their roster.  The team released wide receiver Kyle Williams, cornerback Perrish Cox, and activated linebacker Nick Moody.  With the departure of Williams and Cox, running back LaMichael James and cornerback Eric Wright should see much more playing...

49ers Say Good Bye To Kyle Williams: Reunion with Alex Awaits

The rise and fall of young Kyle Williams was a rocky one. Full of high points and unbearably horrible moments that changed the outcome of an entire season. On Tuesday, Williams was finally cut by the San Francisco 49ers. He actually never made it through waivers and was claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday. Good for Alex Smith to gain an old teammate to help fill a void...

San Francisco 49ers: It’s time for Colin Kaepernick to step up

What a difference a year makes.  Last year the San Francisco 49ers looked like they had the quarterback of the future.  One that could  tear defenses apart on the ground and dissect them through the air.  A quarterback that had the potential to make an explosive play on every down and most importantly one that can win big.  This same guy has struggled in his first full year...

He spent his first day in the practice facility trying to get up to speed...

49ers-Saints Preview

The last time the San Francisco 49ers took the field at the Superdome, they made a gutsy second-half comeback before falling short in the Super Bowl. Based on New Orleans' home dominance, the challenge for the 49ers to come out ahead could be even tougher when they return to the Big Easy on Sunday to face the Saints. San Francisco (6-3) appeared to be on the wrong side of a...
