If this is the guy who has been giving Dwight all the bad advice over the past couple of years, then this is an excellent move by Howard.
Maybe, the smartest one he has made in a while. Kevin Samples has been Dwight’s business manager for 9 years, but Dwight tells Insidehoops.com that it is time he handle things on his own.
“We had nine great years together, just time to go separate ways.”
“I know what I want to accomplish,” Howard said. “I’ve always written down my goals and everything I want, and I want to make sure I get ‘em. Everything I’ve lost, everything that’s gone away, I’m going to get it back.”
I hope those goals include to stop contradicting himself, so often when he speaks to the media. I think, once Dwight signs a long term deal, all of this craziness surrounding him will settle down.
The question still begs, what team will that be.

TIME TO MOVE ON
After nine years spent working together, Lakers center reportedly has parted ways with Kevin Samples, his longtime business manager and advisor.
After a win last night against the Sacramento Kings Dwight Howard performed his usual of answering reporters questions in the locker room. Howard usually does this with his shirt off which prompted a question about his current health.
Our own David Brickley tweeted about it last night:
Reporter (John Ireland) asks awkward question to Dwight Howard. Dwight’s response is a must see...
Dwight Howard is changing a lot this year in L.A. In addition to admitting that playing with Kobe Bryant has made him a better professional, Dwight has begun to take hold of the business side as well. Howard has decided to move on from his business manager, Kevin Samples. Samples has been Howard’s consistent advisor for his nine years in the NBA.

Dwight Howard has grown up, or something.
According to Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register, Howard has decided to part way with Kevin Samples, his business manager of nine years. According to Howard, nothing specific happened, he just felt it was time for the two to go their own ways.
At the moment, it appears Howard is not getting a new business manager. Rather, he...
For the Lakers to survive without Kobe Bryant in the immediate future they are going to need Dwight Howard to play like the superstar they thought they were getting when they brought him to Los Angeles from Orlando.
I think it is safe to say they are finally getting what they wanted! As evidence I present this play from Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings:
Dwight Howard and Kevin Samples are first cousins and had been working together for nine years.
Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni is hopeful Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol will return Friday for the Lakers' game against the Washington Wizards.

The Lakers have yet to win the second game of a back-to-back this season. Earlier in the year, the reasons for this failure were quite simple in that, the Lakers didn’t need back-to-back games to lose. They could have 2-3 days off in between and still couldn’t figure out how to win. The solutions back then were to get injured...

The Lakers completed last week with a 3-2 record. Although they remained in the 8th slot in the Western Conference, the Lakers suffered a significant loss to their personnel.
In the waning moments of the Lakers’ loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Kobe Bryant sprained his ankle when guard Dahntay Jones slid under him. Despite trying to play in the next...
