Eagles Defensive Tackle Mike Patterson has been hospitalized with viral pnemonia and will not play Sunday, the Eagles announced today. Eagles head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder made the announcement to reporters, claiming that the illness has nothing to do with the brain surgery Patterson underwent that caused him to miss all of training camp and the first six games of the season. Patterson has recorded nine tackles and a sack in five games of action this season for the 3-9 Eagles, who have lost eight straight going into this weekend’s clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
