Entering the year, Michael Vick and Jason Kelce planned to share responsibilities pre-snap so Vick could focus on the other tasks at hand. While Vick had final say, it was the center that was calling out the bulk of the protections. Even when Kelce went down and the unproven Dallas Reynolds stepped in, the set-up stayed in place.
The intended results never came as Vick felt somewhat disengaged so he went to the coaching staff and told him he wanted to make the switch. Against the Saints on Monday night, the responsibilities were all his for the first time this season.
I did it because I think when a quarterback is able to make the calls, its actually easier for you to know when youre hot and when youre not, whos the most dangerous guy, said Vick. And I think it allows the center to just hear the calls and focus on the guys in front of him. When the center has to make calls, its a lot for him. Source: PhillyMag.com Attached Thumbnails

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles are now are 3-5 after last week’s loss to the Saints, quarterback Michael Vick still believes his team has a chance at turning things around.

Just when it looked as if Michael Vick were getting the hang of the blitz, it's giving him problems again. The Eagles quarterback completed just four of 12 passes against the blitz Monday night in Philadelphia's 28-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints. His lone interception and three of his seven sacks also came on blitzes. The week before, in the Eagles' 30-17 loss...
Here’s a doozy for you: If you had to pick one player to start an NFL franchise with, who would it be?
It’s a question that’s been debated on barstools nationwide for years, and it’s one that typically stimulates plenty of debate. It’s also as difficult to pick one player now as it’s ever been, although there are a couple of rookie quarterbacks who could stake claim...

If the NFL rumors are true, then former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden may have an itch to leave the broadcast booth of Monday Night Football and return to the coaching sidelines. Of course, any time a head coach is rumored to be on the chopping block – especially with a team with tradition or money to spend – Gruden’s name unmistakably comes...
Michael Vick was blindsided on Monday following the Eagles loss to the Saints with questions about his brother Marcus Vick’s tweets. Michael has since clarified that there is no “WE” in his brother’s statements and that he had a talk with Marcus about how he utilizes Twitter. “You’ll never see that again,” he said yesterday. [...]
If you had told me before the game that the Saints would sack Michael Vick 7 times and hold the Eagles to 7 points, I would have laughed in your face. If you told me they'd yield 447 yards, I'd absolutely believe you. If you told me both would happen, I'd probably seek to have you institutionalized. But that's exactly what happened oddly enough. Make no mistake, the...
