Eagles sign four players to their practice squad
The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have signed four players to their practice squad. Those signings included tight end Rob Myers, guards Mike Gibson and Paul Fanaika, and the receiver who I thought earned a spot on the Eagles 53-man roster, Danny Amendola.
Being on a NFL teams practice squad is nothing new for Danny Amendola who spent the entire 2008 season on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad before he was let go by the Cowboys and signed to the Eagles practice squad in early January.
Amendola played all four preseason games for the Eagles where his ability was best used on special teams, especially when he returned punts and kicks which was where this speed demon benefited the Eagles most.
Hopefully the Eagles eventually deal one of the other receivers, namely Reggie Brown to make room for Danny to finally make a 53-man roster. He would help mostly during kick and punt return duties obviously. But this way DeSean Jackson could devote more of his ability in the receiving game and less of it during the return game.
