State of the Texans:
According to Tania Ganguli of the Houston Chronicle,
Andre Johnson said Ed Reed is feeling fine and “he’ll be ready to go opening day.” #Texans

If anyone knows it would be Andre Johnson on the status of new acquired safety Ed Reed.
Reed had offseason surgery on a torn labrum in his hip this offseason, that put his status in doubt for the opening of the season in San Diego and beyond. This comes as positive news for a Texans secondary whose safeties struggled in coverage in the 2012 season.
The veteran in Reed will give the Texans an experienced ball hawk in the middle of the field, and his presence should put some doubt into quarterbacks minds. Reed will team with Danieal Manning as the starting safeties, with rookie D.J. Swearinger playing the third safety in dime situations.
