Mike Greenberg and his partner Mike Golic will hit the road for hyped up college football and NFL games this year. They’ll be in Evanston on Friday, Oct. 4, in advance of Saturday’s match-up with “Greeny’s” alma mater vs. the Ohio State Buckeyes. The co-host of the nationally syndicated ESPN radio show “Mike And Mike in the Morning” was gracious enough to grant me an exclusive interview yesterday by phone. We talked Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls. The 1989 graduate of NU served as Honorary Captain this past Saturday during the Wildcats 48-27 demolition of the Cuse. Here’s part one of the interview. Below you’ll see a portion of his ESPN College Gameday segment from this past Saturday with the NU football team Paul M. Banks: Tell me your thoughts on Jay Cutler, Marc Trestman and all the big Bears storylines this year. Mike Greenberg: “I’m a believer, I have had log conversations with Steve Young about Trestman, and if you’ve eve heard him talk about Trestman, you’d have a very favo

Video: Derrick Rose displays sick handles in Japan

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose as gone through hell over the past 18 months. The critical knee injury in the 2011-12 playoffs, the rehab, the drama around the lost season and the self-doubt that must accompany all of it has not made life easy for the former MVP. Rose is currently in the Far East promoting shoes and gave a few lucky(?) attendees an event the opportunity...

WATCH: Derrick Rose dunks on samurai in Japan

Derrick Rose is still touring Asia trying to sell shoes for Adidas, but as part of that promotional tour decided to play a little one on one. Well one on three in this case against a few Samurais. Rose’s knee looks pretty good here but I am sure Bulls fans are looking forward to seeing this in real action against actual players.

Derrick Rose Looks Quite Healthy Playing 1-On-1

Brian Urlacher is mad at Jay Cutler because QB hasn't called

Tweet Brian Urlacher, the retired All-Pro Chicago Bears linebacker, has been in the sports headlines for his quotes a lot lately. This time, Urlacher is sounding a lot bit bitter that current Bears quarterback is the only former teammate that hasn’t called Urlacher since he’s been retired. Urlacher recently sat down with Graham Bensinger and vented about […]

CC video of the day: Derrick Rose vs. three samurais

No this is not the latest installment of some Wolverine movie involving samurais. Instead, this should be something Bulls' fans are loving considering Derrick Rose seemingly is ready to go for next season. Rose is out in Japan on a promotional tour for Adidas and while there, he went one-on-three versus samurai. That's right, he took on three samurai en route to the easy...

Bears QB Cutler is finally 'comfortable'

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By GENE CHAMBERLAIN Associated Press Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler might be showing signs he's a different player this season. What is certain is that he's a less frustrated, healthier and better-protected player in new coach Marc Trestman's system. Cutler showed signs of leadership and determination in last Sunday's 24-21 comeback win...

Bears’ Kyle Long Lets The Bengals Know That Jay Cutler Is Not To Be Messed With

During Sunday’s Bears win over the Bengals at Soldier Field, rookie offensive linemanKyle Long took issue with Bengals’ defensive player Vontaze Burfict seemingly trying to hit Jay after he already has went to the ground sliding. Without hesitation Kyle Long hopped in the Burfict’s face and let him know that Jay is off limits for that sort of shenanigans. If that wasn’t...

Chicago Bears: 2013 Week 2 NFL Power Rankings (#10)

The way AJ Green shredded a secondary that was supposed to be the strength of this team is concerning, but AJ Green is a top-3 receiver in this league so maybe they get a pass. The good news is their offense looked very good against a very strong Cincinnati defense. Jay Cutler wasn’t sacked once by a dominant Cincinnati defensive line as their retooled offensive line help up. The...

Bears focused more on pass rush than Adrian Peterson

The Chicago Bears are focusing more on their pass rush than stopping Adrian Peterson as they head into Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. “I think as a D-lineman, we definitely want to stop the

5 Must See NBA Games

www.sports.yahoo.com After glancing through the ESPN nationally televised games for the upcoming year, ESPN and I clearly disagree on what a good NBA will look like.  The only evidence I need for this argument sits with Boston getting three games on ESPN. So I thought I would list a few games that either should have gotten an ESPN consideration, or will simply...

Final Thoughts: Plenty Of Positives For Bears In Season Opening Win

The Chicago Bears did plenty of good things in Sunday's season opening win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Of course the storyline of the game was the fact that the Bears overcame an 11 point third quarter deficit by scoring 14 unanswered points to win the game. However, some impressive plays were made by the Bears on both sides of the ball. The new-look Bears offensive line...
