BOSTON--  Have you licked your wounds yet? Boston Bruins Nation is still licking theirs after a heart-breaking 3-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, one that saw visiting Chicago score two goals in a span of 17 seconds, and it turn robbing the Bruins of their second Stanley Cup in three years. While the Stanley Cup is hockey’s ultimate prize, this season the Black and Gold accomplished something far greater than any trophy could measure. On April 15, the entire city of Boston was rocked emotionally and physically due to the events of the Boston Marathon bombings. That evening’s game was canceled, and the Bruins did not resume play until the 17, when they took on the Buffalo Sabres. As a video montage saluting law enforcement and recapping the horrific day in pictures flashed on the gargantuan Jumbotron, there was no doubt that the following national anthem was going to be special. As Bruins singer Rene Rancourt began the national anthem, the whispers of voices could be heard.  Begin...

Bruins F Bergeron being observed for lung puncture

Patrice Bergeron has a punctured lung and is at a Boston-area hospital for observation. The Bruins forward was admitted Monday night, after Boston lost to Chicago, 3-2, in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final at TD Garden - a defeat which ended the season. Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli and coach Claude Julien addressed Bergeron's status Wednesday, the same day they held...

Bruins Reflect on 2013 Season Amid Contract Discussions, Zdeno Chara Says Team Friendships ‘Are for Life’ (Video)

The Bruins returned to the locker room at TD Garden one last time for the 2013 season on Wednesday to clear out their lockers. Although it’s summer vacation for the players, now is when the real work for general manager Peter Chiarelli begins. The B’s GM will be busy during the offseason with decisions to make on a number of different players. But before all of that starts,...

Boston Bruins Fans Got Over Stanley Cup Loss By Watching Porn

Welp…if you can’t beat em…beat off For some reason the porn site Pornhub was monitoring the site’s traffic following the Stanley Cup Finals in game 6, and what they found was the numbers in the Boston area soared. See below   I personally would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall as the ‘statisticians’ of a porn site carefully calculated numbers to come up...

Andrew Ference Assumes He Won’t Be Back With Bruins, Understands Role Salary Cap Plays

It probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise, but it sounds very, very unlikely Andrew Ference will play for the Bruins. It’s actually all but a certainty he’ll play somewhere else next year. Ference, an unrestricted free agent this summer, acknowledged Wednesday at the team’s break-up day that he probably won’t be back. The 34-year-old defenseman will likely seek employment...

Jaromir Jagr won't return to Boston in 2013-14

Jaromir Jagr is once again looking for a new team. A report from Fluto Shinzawa, the Boston Bruins beat reporter for the Boston Globe, indicates that Jagr will not return to Boston in 2013-14. This report has been confirmed by Boston GM Peter Chiarelli. Despite the fact Boston has no intention of bringing Jagr back, that doesn't mean they were unhappy with the veteran's...

Andrew Ference removes beard on Vine and it is awesome

Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference wasted no time shaving off his playoff beard following the Bruins game 6 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.  Rather than just shave off the beard, Ference decided to make an entertaining video on Vine that showed him using an eraser to remove the beard and then sneezing off his moustache.  This was highly entertaining and definitely a must-watch...

Bruins head into offseason after stunning loss

Don't tell David Krejci that adversity makes you stronger. Certainly not the shocking kind that left the Boston Bruins wondering how a night of hope became, in a mere 17 seconds, a long summer of disappointment. That's all the time the Chicago Blackhawks needed to score two goals in the last 76 seconds and win the Stanley Cup with a 3-2 victory on Monday night. For the...

Hammered Boston Bruins Fan Falls Off Her Barstool On Video

A.B. This pretty much sums up how hammered Bostonians are getting during these playoffs. Overtime hockey equals overtime drinking and overtime drinking equals more videos like this. And I live for videos like this. Not videos where people are falling down – people do that all the time – but videos where people are trying to look sexy or showoff and then fall down. A picture in...

Bruins Come Out Firing in Game 6, Taking Pressure Off Top Line While Injury Concerns Swirl (Video)

The Bruins came out and played the first period of Game 6 as if their pants were on fire. In a manner of speaking, they are. Boston needs to win in order to force a Game 7, so it’s only natural that the B’s have a sense of urgency against the Blackhawks on Monday night. With all the attention on Patrice Bergeron‘s status, however, the Bruins needed some unlikely heroes to emerge...

Chicago: Great At Hockey. Horrible At Prank Calling Boston

A.B. Yes I am a Boston Bruins fan and yes I am bitter about the loss last night. But neither of those facts cloud my judgement of what’s funny even if the “joke” is on Boston. Plus, I actually respect the Blackhawks and love the city of Chicago. So that being said: These are two of the least funny and least creative prank calls I have ever heard. No effort. No creativity. “Hey...

Looks like someone over on NHL.com hit the wrong button.  For a brief time after the thrilling Game 6 finish, NHL.com was selling Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Hats.  The page has been taken down now and if you want Bruins Stanley Cup gear, you’re going to have to visit a third world country.  At Sportslogos.net, they have full photos of all the gear Bruins fans will be missing...

Bruins will remember loss 'forever'

The lasting visual -- as it typically is when the Stanley Cup Final comes to an end -- will be of Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews taking the famed trophy from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. For the Boston Bruins, it'll be a series of images, a B-roll of nightmares where a one-goal lead turned into 3-2 defeat in a matter of 17 seconds in the closing moments of Game...

Boston Bruins Fight to Stave Off Elimination vs. Chicago Black Hawks in Game 6: What to Watch For

After five grueling games of this Stanley Cup Final, the Boston Bruins face a must win game six at TD Garden tonight against the Blackhawks.  As much as people want to compare this scenario to 2011, the fact of the matter is that the Blackhawks are not the Canucks.  In the B’s previous trip to [...] [[ This is a content summary only.
