Former Ohio State Buckeyes football player Ray Small was arrested late Thursday on multiple drug charges and could over 30 years in prison if convicted of all charges.Police reportedly made the arrest after a special unit tracked Small to a local condominium.Small, 26, has been charged with six counts of felony drug possession and trafficking, which included firearm specifications, as well.Investigators said the charges stemmed from an April search of Small's north Columbus apartment. The indictment indicates that authorities seized more than 20 grams of heroin and 400 oxycodone pills, along with a semi-automatic handgun and assault rifle.Small played wide receiver for the Buckeyes from 2006 to 2009 and was disciplined several times during his college career. He caused some controversy with things he said about USC before the Buckeyes played the Trojans, then faced a suspension later in his career, even as his family complained about the way he was treated within the program. He was then suspended for what should have been the last game of his career, the Rose Bowl against Oregon on Jan. 1, 2010.The most notable instance stemmed from the infamous football memorabilia scandal that costs then head coach Jim Tressel his job and put the program on a one-year bowl ban.Small is slated to be arraigned in court on Monday. If convicted of all charges, Small faces up to 33 years in prison as punishment. The Cleveland native recorded 61 catches and 659 yards in his Ohio State career.Via 10TV
