I tracked down an actual eye witness to the infamous Jay Cutler “DON’T CARE” bathroom incident. And I have his account in hand. Of course, today is a Sunday, and that’s a very slow traffic day. So it’ll have to wait for Monday. What time Monday? The hour when most people are opening their inboxes, or going online during their lunch breaks. And most editors are done with their morning meetings. That’s the noon hour. So return to this very website at 12 noon Central time to read the eye witness account of the Jay Cutler DON’T CARE occurrence. Urban legend, or embellishment no more. The truth gets set free August 12-2013. In the mean time, if you don’t know what we’re talking about here’s that story as told on WSCR 670 The Score, the Joe O. Show. And told another time on stage at The Laugh Factory Chicago. By the way, so Jay Cutler threw an interception on his very first pass of the 2013 preseason in the Chicago Bears loss to the Carolina Panthers. C’mon you don’t really care about tha

Concussion for Bears' Henry Melton in preseason opener

Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton suffered a concussion during Friday night's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, and as a precaution, we may not see him again until the strat of the regular season. Melton, who's currently playing under the franchise tag, left in the first quarter and didn't return. "Henry has a concussion and he'll be in...

Bears shift rookies Mills, Long into starting roles

Youth will be served during the first-year of new head coach Marc Trestman’s regime of the Chicago Bears. After watching sloppy offensive line play in the Bears preseason opener at Carolina, rookie right tackle Jordan Mills and first-round guard Kyle Long will line up with the first team in workouts and the second preseason game against San Diego at Soldier [...]

Bears demote J'Marcus Webb to 2nd team

J-Webb Nation is facing a coup now that the Bears have cranked up a competition at right tackle that was only talked about previously. J'Marcus Webb was demoted to the second team Sunday the first practice since he was beaten for a sack of Jay Cutler in one of 10 snaps for the quarterback in Friday's exhibition opener at Carolina. Coach Marc Trestman has referenced a competition...

Rookie MLB Jon Bostic is making a serious push to unseat D.J. Williams in the starting lineup.

While Williams has been out with a calf injury, Bostic is soaking up first-team practice reps. In the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Bostic was selected by the Bears with the 50th pick overall and he is considered the Bears' future at the position. Bostic’s mentorship under D.J. Williams has turned into a battle for the starting job. He started at middle linebacker against...

Bears vs. Panthers Preseason Game: 5 Things We Learned

The Carolina Panthers rode two Josh Norman interceptions, one on Jay Cutler's first pass of the game and the second for a 60-yard touchdown to defeat the Chicago Bears 24-10 on Friday in Charlotte. For a first preseason game both teams played at a good pace with relatively few penalties committed, both the Bears and Panthers were called for five penalties for 44 yards. There were...

Cutler on relationship with Trestman: 'No real serious bumps yet'

We already know that the 2013 season is awfully important for Bears quarterback Jay Cutler's future. He's in the final year of his contract and he most likely won't be receiving a long-term extension before the end of the season (so says general manager Phil Emery who did however choose Cutler over former coach Lovie Smith). And it makes sense to pay Cutler his $8.47...

Chicago 17, Carolina 24

The Bears had their first preseason game. Honestly, I'm calling it a win, because no one really got injured. Henry Melton had a concussion, but he's just day to day. Honestly, you can't take much away from the game. Jay Cutler didn't play very much, and threw an interception on the very first ******* play. The offensive line was honestly pretty bad, but I can'...

Chicago Bears Preseason Opener Gives Glimmer of Hope, Plenty to Work On

Welcome to the NFL preseason, where mainly scrubs play and the score doesn’t matter.  That’s right, the score doesn’t matter, just like a Green Bay Packers stock certificate. Last Friday night the Carolina Panthers “defeated” the Chicago Bears 24-17 in a game where the two starting quarterbacks combined to throw the ball 14 times.  Since […]The post Chicago Bears Preseason...

Jon Bostic pushing for starting linebacker job with Bears

DJ Williams looked like he would be the heir to Brian Urlacher in Chicago when the Bears signed him in the offseason. But after the Bears first preseason game, rookie linebacker Jon Bostic could very well take over that starting middle linebacker position come week one of the regular season. A second round pick out of the University of Florida, Bostic returned an interception of...

Henry Melton Suffers Concussion in Preseason Opener

Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton left Chicago's first preseason game after suffering a concussion.Fantasy Spin:Melton set a career-high in tackles with 43 last season though his sack total fell from seven in 2011 to six in 2012. He's still expected to be ready for Week 1.

Curtis Brinkley Lands in Chicago

Newly signed running back Curtis Brinkley will have a chance to win the No. 3 spot behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush.Fantasy Spin:Brinkley will have to beat out Armando Allen, but Allen is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. Brinkley did nothing in his opportunities with the Chargers over the past two seasons to make any fantasy contribution likely unless the Bears'...

Panthers top Bears, 24-17, in sloppy preseason opener

Victimized by another pick-six by the Chicago defense Panthers quarterback Cam Newton can take solace in the fact he won’t have to face the Bears in the regular season. Newton played three series and accounted for two touchdowns – one for the Bears on an interception that rookie linebacker Jonathan Bostic returned for a score – in the Panthers’ 24-17 victory in the exhibition...

Game Recap: Bears Have Plenty To Improve On After Preseason Debut

It certainly wasn't all smiles for the Chicago Bears in their preseason debut against the Carolina Panthers. Of course losing 24-17 in the preseason isn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to see the Bears have a little more continuity. That's what the preseason is for. To smooth things out and find those role players a the back-end of your roster. The Bears...
