During the team’s week one match-up against the Rice Owls, last year’s Heisman winner, Johnny Manziel was supposed for the first half of the game for allegedly signing autographs in exchange for money. Some players might be humbled by this punishment, just not Johnny Manziel. Instead, Manziel came into the game, threw for 94 yards and 3 touchdowns and then taunted the Rice defenders.
One taunt, that has since garnered the Heisman winner a lot of attention, came when Manziel mimicked an autograph in the air for a Rice defender (seen below). Manziel then shook his head as if to tell the defender he would not be signing autographs for him.
Hoping to cash in off of Manziel’s actions, one Texas A&M fan is trying to sell the air that Manziel signed. The EBay auction by user trinityblessed2002 already has 2 bids and a price of $1.29. The best part about the auction may be the user’s description of the air.
“Up for auction is THE air that JOHNNY MANZIEL signed against Rice on August 31, 2013 at Kyle Field (College Station).
In the most recent matchup between Texas A&M and Rice, Johnny Manziel was suspended for the first half for signing autographs. When he returned in the second half, he torched the Rice defense to the tune of three TD’s.
After one play in particular a Rice defender asked Johnny Manziel for his autograph (his mother is a huge fan). Johnny happily obliged and, having no pen or 8×10 glossy, he instead signed the air for his newest fan.
Unfortunately, and unknowingly, for the defender, air is public domain. As soon as Manziel autographed that air it became anyone’s to grab. That’s where I come in. I was at the game and watched this whole scenario unfold. I watched as the autographed air drifted in my direction. After fighting off several fans, I managed to take the entire autographed air into my Dasani bottle. Since eBay will not let me sell air, THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE DASANI BOTTLE and the autographed air will be included for free.
*Please note. Johnny has enough trouble with autographing items. So please know I did not pay him anything for this air. It was simply air drifting through the public domain where I was lucky enough to fill my mouth with it.
Also, for those of you who are curious, Manziel’s autograph tasted like a mix of strippers and Swisher Sweets. Delicious!”
Somehow, I have a feeling someone will buy this air. Even if they only spend a few dollars on it.
