On this date 14 years ago, the Brigham Young Cougars were in need of a confidence boost. They got it by playing Murray State.It was the first time BYU ever played a Division I-AA school.The talented Cougar defense held Murray State scoreless for the first half, thanks to a Jason Walker interception in the end zone during the first quarter.The Cougar offense struggled to put points on the board in the first half. A rotating quarterback system with Kevin Feterik and Drew Miller trading snaps every quarter. It A 37-yard punt return by Aaron Roderick to set up the first of two Ronney Jenkins first half touchdown runs.While the game was relatively close at halftime, 14-0, BYU broke the game open in the third quarter. Feterik accounted for two touchdowns, one rushing and one passing, as BYU took a 29-0 lead.
