MLB Injury News:
Adam Kennedy, who spent much of his career playing for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim/Anaheim Angels, is all but retired from Major League Baseball. Kennedy has not announced his retirement, but he is moving on with his life and focusing on teaching baseball.
According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, Kennedy is set to open a baseball academy in the Anaheim area this summer. That would likely mean he is done playing.
Former #Angels and #Dodgers INF Adam Kennedy hasn't officially retired but is opening a baseball development facility in Anaheim next week.

Kennedy will be 37 years old in a few days and has spent 14 years in the Majors. Most recently, Kennedy played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He appeared in 86 games and hit .262/.345/.357. He was still a productive utility player, and he could play somewhere else this season if he wanted to. But it seems Kennedy is ready to move on.
Kennedy suffered a groin injury toward the end of the 2012 season that shelved him for the final few games of the season. The groin injury was a reoccurrence of a similar injury he had suffered earlier in the year. Injuries may have played a role in Kennedy's decision to call it a career - if that's what he does.
Remember, his retirement has not officially been announced.

The Dodgers have invited 13 prospects to their annual Winter Development Program, which begins next week at Camelback Ranch.
The camp is usually held at Dodger Stadium, but as Ken Gurnick wrote, the stadium is undergoing major renovations, making it unavailable for use.

Despite all the denials, Andre Ethier‘s name continues to come up in trade rumors, and given what I’ve heard, I don’t think it’s just noise. The latest has him heading to the Mariners, and it’s via ESPN‘s Jason Churchill (1, 2, 3).
Hearing Mariners have progressed in trade talks for a hitter. Indications it’s Ethier. Multiple players involved.
@nbynwms very possible...
Well, well, well, apparently Andre Ethier isn't as unavailable as previously expected. The Dodgers, despite reports from some in the national media, have been talking to other teams about the outfielder -- specifically, the Seattle Mariners.
Jason Churchill of Prospect Insider and ESPN tweeted the news on New Year's Eve.
"Hearing Mariners have progressed in trade...
Josh Beckett has endured a lot of bad press over the last two years, and he’s to blame for pretty much all of it. The good news for bargain-hunting fantasy managers is that all the talk about his bad attitude, poor conditioning, and general selfishness might do wonders for his average draft position. According to Mock Draft Central that hasn’t been the case so far, but I find...

It seems as if the ripple-effect made by the Kendrys Morales trade has stretched farther into the roster than many might think. A lot of Angel fans were unhappy, or I could say outright pissed, that Kendrys was traded for some third-rate inning eating starter from the lowly Mariners. I mean, not only did the Angels trade away one of their biggest power bats for a mid-tier starter...
