Former NFL and University of Florida quarterback Doug Johnson could face a felony battery charge after he allegedly took part in brutally beating a man so badly that the victim blacked out.The victim, 28-year old Joe Cappelletti, said the incident occurred following the Florida-LSU football game on Oct. 6. A Gainesville police officer said a sworn complaint was filed by Cappelletti against Johnson and two others in November.Johnson and the two other accusers claim they were just acting in self-defense.A decision has not yet been made by the State Attorney's Office as to whether or not formal charges will be filed.More on the incident from the The Gainesville Sun:Cappelletti told The Sun after the incident that he was walking down West University Avenue near St. Augustine Church around 9:30 p.m. when two women and three men in a rickshaw pulled up.
