In case anyone is thinking about an early Christmas present for the Packers fans on their list, Jay Ross may have the ultimate present for you.
According to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, former practice-squad defensive tackle Jay Ross is selling the jewelry he receivedafter the Packers beat the Steelers last year in Cowboys Stadium.
The bidding via Heritage Auctions opens July 14 and closes on August 2.
Ross, who is currently on the Buffalo Bills roster, has not disclosed why he is selling the ring but he may need the cash or may not feel he truly earned it.
This is not the first time a Packers’ Super Bowl ring has been sold. Less than three months after a team employee’s Super Bowl XLV ring was purchased at a pawn shop for roughly $17,000, another Super Bowl XLV ring is available.
Maybe Super Bowl rings are not as important to some players as others. Maybe Ross will regret this later in life or maybe he is making the right decision.
