Earlier this week, we told you about Lauren Silberman. She’s the former Wisconsin Badger soccer player who is trying out at the NFL Regional Combine in Dallas to become a professional kicker. There was a lot of hype surrounding her workout today — after all, she’s striving to become the first woman player in the NFL. However, it’s safe to say that those dreams came to an end today, after an absolutely terrible display of kicking. Silberman only even had two official kickoff attempts — neither traveling further than twenty yards. She appeared to hurt herself on the second attempt. Here is a video of her second kickoff attempt, courtesy of USA Today’s Mike Garafolo: Lauren Silberman’s tryout at the NFL Combine set women’s athletics back about 200 to 300 years vine.co/v/bHuME7n7FJB — KFC (@KFCBarstool) March 3, 2013 After 3 mins, 16 secs of questions, Silberman says she’s done talking. Gotta be honest, this feels like quite the sham right now. — Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 3, 2013 Lauren Silberman’s two kickoffs at the NFL regional combine before she apparently hurt herself both went fewer than 20 yards. #awkward — Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) March 3, 2013 Lauren Silberman.
