Former Louisville swing-man Francisco Garcia just finished his eighth season in the NBA and is looking for a new team. Garcia spent the first seven and a half seasons with the Sacramento Kings, but was traded to the Houston Rockets midway through last season. His last contract was worth $23 million over five years with Sacramento in 2008.
Garcia isn’t expected to resign with the Houston Rockets, but there are multiple NBA teams that have inquired about signing him. The Los Angeles Lakers along with the New York Knicks and the Portland Trailblazers have all recently expressed interest.
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, the Knicks appear to be the most likely landing spot for Garcia at the point. He was born in the Dominican Republic, but was raised in the Bronx.
Garcia is coming off a nice playoff series with the Rockets, averaging 10.7 points per game and making 17-of-37 3-pointers (45.9 percent). At 31, I doubt Garcia will receive a long term deal that was as lucrativ...

There’s lots of speculation of what the New York Knicks may or may not do to strengthen their point guard position. Right now I’m almost 100 percent positive that the Houston Rockets could care less about what Omer Asik wants now that they have Dwight Howard on board.
Sources have told ESPN.com that Asik has no interest in being Howard’s back-up or playing next to him, which is fine because moving him would actually help with the Rockets reported game-plan.
