Gary Payton Has Been Elected To The NBA Hall Of Fame. Word just came down a short while ago via the Twitter feed from S Howard Cooper of NBA.com and on NBA TV. Gary Payton very excited yesterday after getting word he had been elected to the Hall of Fame. Official announcement coming Monday.— Scott Howard-Cooper (@SHowardCooper) April 4, 2013 Glove was drafted second overall in the 1990 NBA Draft by the SuperSonics, and spent his first 12½ seasons with Seattle. Our man "the GLOVE" is of course the only point guard ever to win the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, and is widely considered one of the greatest of all time at that position. He's a nine-time NBA All-Star and a nine-time All-NBA Team member. All Sonics fans know Gary holds Seattle franchise records in points, assists, and steals. We will never forget the 96 NBA Finals run, and all he has done for Seattle basketball. Congrats Gary! More...
