Florida head coach Kevin O’Sullivan was optimistic about his team’s defense this season. He liked the athleticism and range that the Gators could put on the field. It hasn’t played out that way during the first week of the season. Through five games, Florida has made 15 errors. The Gators made six errors on Wednesday night in an 8-7 midweek loss to Georgia Southern in 12 innings.

No. 5 Florida struggled from the free throw line, turned the ball over and saw defensive lapses down the stretch, allowing the Tigers to get back in the game and eventually secure a 63-60 win over the Gators.
The Florida Gators reeled in one of the top secondary groups in the country in the 2013 class. Under Armour All-American Keanu Neal was an early commitment for the Gators and a guy that absolutely sees the great opportunity ahead of him at Florida with the departure of both safeties to the NFL.
After his run-in with the law over two weeks ago, Florida Gators cornerback Louchiez Purifoy’s criminal stretch is no more, as the Gainesville state attorney’s office has decided to drop its case against Purifoy, due to lack of evidence. Purifoy, a fan-favorite for many, was arrested for allegedly being present in a car containing marijuana. Before the case was dropped, Purifoy...
