Florida's linebacker depth got a boost on Thursday. The Gators found out that Neiron Ball has been cleared to return to the team and play this fall. Ball missed the entire 2011 season after a blood vessel burst in his brain on February 15, 2011. Ball, who was diagnosed with a congenital vascular condition, said on Facebook that he has been cleared to return to the team.
The Auburn women's basketball team (13-17) saw its season come to an end Thursday afternoon as the No. 9 seed Tigers fell to eighth-seeded Florida, 70-60, in the first round of the 2012 Southeastern Conference Tournament. The Gators (19-11) will take on regular-season champion Kentucky at 12 p.m., Friday in the second round.
The Florida State Women's Tennis Team fell to the No.2 Florida Gators today, 7-0 at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex to move to 5-4 on the season.
The Gators of Lake Cormorant are a program on the rise. Linebacker Benny McCall looks to be a leader for the Gator defense this fall. College recruiters have begun reaching out to McCall to learn more about him and what he may bring to their program.
The Florida Gators' road woes continue. Adjusting to playing without forward Will Yeguete may be posing some problems too.
Florida entered Tuesday’s game at Vanderbilt hoping for a win for a couple reasons. First, it would get the bad taste out of the Gators’ mouths after losing at 11th-place Georgia on Saturday. Although Florida is without reserve forward Will Yeguete for the rest of the year because of a broken foot, it didn’t have the effort needed to beat the Bulldogs, coach Billy Donovan said.
