Anybody who has an older sibling that pursues the same line of work knows how tough it is to separate yourself and emerge from their shadow. Oftentimes, outsiders clump you together as if you’re one being – despite the fact you are two completely different people, only with the same last name. That’s usually the case with UFC stars Nick and Nate Diaz. However with the Diaz brothers, they are nearly one in the same as far as public persona, undying love for medical marijuana and fight style. Welterweight king Georges St-Pierre (Pictured) is banking on the Diaz boys being a Xerox copy of each other in the latter category. More than 5.7 viewers tuned in to FOX last Saturday to watch lightweight champion Benson Henderson steamroll Nate to retain his title, including St-Pierre. Now that GSP’s highly-anticipated showdown with Nick has been confirmed, he plans on tearing a page out of Bendo’s playbook for his next assignment. “That’s funny you asked that question, because I watched very carefully your fight against Nate Diaz,” St-Pierre said on FUEL TV’s post-fight show when Henderson asked how he intends to attack Nick. “It was a great display of athleticism, technique and wrestling. I’m going to try to use some of the stuff you have done in the fight to win over Nick Diaz, as well. “I’m going to learn from what you did and try to apply it in my game plan. Thanks for showing me the blueprint.” Now, all St-Pierre needs is for Nick to perform exactly like Nate did against Henderson and he’s all set for March 16th. St-Pierre ended his 19-month hiatus in triumphant fashion by unifying the welterweight belt against interim champion Carlos Condit at UFC 154. Diaz, meanwhile, has been serving a year-long marijuana suspension following his February defeat to Condit. GSP and Diaz will collide in the most anticipated 170-pound scrap in mixed martial arts history at UFC 158.
