Tonight the football world will watch the winless New York Giants host the 1-4 Minnesota Vikings to cap off Week 7 on Monday Night Football. The Giants have had a nightmare of a season plagued by injuries and by the looks of the injury report it appears that trend will continue this week.
Running back David Wilson did not practice this week and will miss his second straight game with a neck injury. Cornerback Jayron Hosley was limited in Thursday and Friday’s practice and sat out of practice Saturday with a hamstring injury. Hosley has also been ruled out of tonight’s game.
Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul missed practice Friday and Saturday with an illness. Pierre-Paul is listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Running back Brandon Jacobs was limited Thursday and Friday and missed Saturday’s practice with a hamstring injury. Jacobs is listed as questionable but the New York Daily News reports that Jacobs likely will not play tonight, which is an extreme blow to the Giants’ depth at running back. Tight end Adrien Robinson (foot) and safety Cooper Taylor (shoulder) both had limited reps in practice this week and are listed as questionable.
It looks like the Giants will get cornerback Corey Webster back tonight. Webster has not played since Week 2 but is listed as probable for tonight’s game with a groin injury. Fellow Cornerback Terrell Thomas (knee) sat out of practice Thursday and was limited Friday and Saturday. Thomas is also probable to play tonight. Center David Baas (neck) was limited Thursday and Friday but fully participated in Saturday’s practice. Baas is listed as probable and is expected to play tonight.
