San Francisco Giants
The Giants are certainly a confusing team in 2013, but wins are wins. Brandon Belt was the hero of Tuesday evening, launching an eighth inning homerun to turn the tables on the Diamondbacks, granting the Giants a 9-6 win.
A shaky start by Tim Lincecum will surely raise more doubts about his future in San Francisco, but at least the bats are alive and well for the Black and Orange. Giants’ hitters tallied eight extra base hits including home runs from Angel Pagan, Hunter Pence, and Belt.
The game began well enough for the Giants with Angel Pagan leading off the game with a home run, however the lead was quickly extinguished when Cliff Pennington hit a three run homer off Lincecum in the second inning to give the Diamondbacks a 3-1 advantage. Eric Chavez drove in the fourth run for the Diamondbacks in the fourth with a double.
The Giants got two back in the fifth with an RBI double from Pagan and an RBI triple from Brandon Crawford to trim the lead to 4-3. Paul Goldschmidt drove in a ...

Another game, another magical comeback for the San Francisco Giants! This time it was a 3-run homer by Brandon Belt in the top of the 8th inning to give the Giants a 7-6 lead. They then tacked on 2 more runs in the 9th, and Sergio Romo secured the victory by picking up his 11th save of the season.

Cain Ain’t Able

For years Matt Cain has defied logic. Despite being a flyball pitcher with a mediocre batted ball profile and mediocre swing-and-miss ability, Cain has been one of the most reliable aces in fantasy baseball for a few years now. I don’t think I’ve ever owned him in a league, mostly because the price was too high considering...

Winning Ugly is back in San Francisco. The Giants, the champs of 2012 and the favorites to repeat as the winners of the National League West this season, have had an extremely bumpy first few weeks of the still-young season. The hitting has been spotty, the starting pitching has generally not lived up to expectations, and the bullpen has had some hiccups. Even though the Giants are...
