Bob Anderson likes to say that he has one of the coolest kids on the planet. He means that his son, golfer Josh Anderson, is unflappable and can roll with the punches as well as anybody. On Saturday, Josh Anderson defined what it means to overcome even the strangest adversity. Involved in a frightening early morning car accident on Interstate 15 that sent his father to the hospital, Anderson caught a cab to Torrey Pines, hit a few practice putts and then produced a bogey-free 4-under-par 68 on the South Course. The score earned him medalist honors in the Farmers Insurance Open amateur qualifying tournament and a spot in the upcoming PGA Tour event at Torrey Pines on Jan. 27-30.
